Agreement on Secondary Establishment Completed with Gyeongsangnam-do
Changwon City, a special city in Gyeongnam, announced on the 29th that it has received approval for the establishment of the 'Changwon FC' foundation corporation through the Gyeongsangnam-do public institution establishment review committee, enabling it to accelerate the foundation's establishment.
So far, the city conducted the first preliminary consultation with Gyeongnam Province in 2021, and last year, through the Gyeongnam Research Institute, received a favorable feasibility review result. Following this, the second consultation went through the Gyeongnam Province Investment and Public Institution Operation Review Committee.
The corporatization of the Changwon City Hall football team is in accordance with the club licensing regulations of the Korea Football Association's K3 League, which is promoting the establishment of an advanced football division system. By corporatizing the club, it will operate affiliated youth teams and football-related programs, thereby expanding opportunities for Changwon citizens to enjoy sports.
Going forward, the foundation corporation will be established and operated through step-by-step procedures such as enacting ordinances and articles of incorporation for the foundation's establishment and operation, registration of establishment, and official designation announcements.
The Changwon City Hall football team was founded in 2005 and showed a strong presence in the K3 League, winning the league championship last year with a record of 17 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses (57 points). With the transition to the 'Changwon FC' foundation corporation system, even greater achievements are expected.
