Noru Paint Obtains US Certification for Building Exterior Heat-Reflective Paint

Noru Paint announced on the 29th that it has obtained the ‘CRRC Cool Wall’ certification from the U.S. energy-saving coating certification organization CRRC (Cool Roof Rating Council).

Last year, CRRC introduced a Wall Rating Program, a separate certification from the existing rooftop heat-reflective paint Cool Roof certification, which requires specifications and functions suitable for building exterior walls. This is an energy efficiency rating for products used on building exterior walls.

To receive the Cool Wall certification, it is necessary to set the Solar Spectrum Reflectometer suitable for building exterior walls. During the aging test conducted over three years after the initial evaluation, test results focused on exterior wall application are required, including testing at an angle of 90° suitable for building exterior wall installation.

The heat-reflective paint for building exterior walls (Energy Saver Cool Wall) by Noru Paint, which obtained the certification, applied a combination of infrared reflection and heat blocking technologies, meeting the Cool Wall certification standards for both solar reflectance and thermal emittance. In terms of quality, it also satisfies the physical properties of KS M 6010 Exterior Grade 1 standards and possesses excellent alkali resistance, water resistance, washability, and weather resistance.

Since launching the rooftop heat-reflective paint (Energy Saver Cool Roof) in 2015, Noru Paint has promoted the excellence of its products through social contribution activities such as conducting Cool Roof campaigns targeting vulnerable facilities in cooperation with local governments nationwide.

Recently, as regulations to reduce carbon emissions due to global warming and climate change have been strengthened, interest in heat-reflective paints that lower building surface temperatures and contribute to cooling energy savings is gradually increasing, leading to a growing demand in the construction market.

A Noru Paint official stated, "With this certification, we have secured customer trust in our products and further strengthened our lineup of heat-reflective paints that can save energy." He added, "We will continue to actively participate in supporting vulnerable groups through technology development that can respond to global warming, climate change, and environmental issues."
