Launch of POSCO Win-Win Growth Support Group
Korea MNC, a manufacturer of pneumatic cylinders, visited the POSCO Win-Win Growth Support Group last September to resolve ongoing delivery delays and assembly defects. Through consulting with the support group, they established a material management system foundation for efficient material control and are currently introducing a system that enables real-time production information monitoring through the Smart Factory support project.
Kim Jae-guk, CEO of Korea MNC, said, "As a result of the consulting, we achieved concrete outcomes such as a 67% reduction in delivery delay rate and an 86% decrease in assembly defect rate." He added, "We expect work efficiency to improve further once a system that shares production site information in real time is applied."

POSCO's Win-Win Growth Support Group, which is promoted for mutual growth with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), is realizing co-prosperity management.
On the 28th, POSCO announced that it held the 2023 Win-Win Growth Support Group inauguration ceremony at the POSCO headquarters in Pohang and officially began its activities.
First launched in 2021, the Win-Win Growth Support Group consists of eight veteran POSCO leaders with over 25 years of experience and expertise in various fields. They directly visit SMEs facing difficulties in technology development or management and support their growth through customized consulting.
Kim Yong-su, Head of POSCO's Purchasing and Investment Division, said, "Companies that improve their organizational structure and prepare for the future can not only survive but also gain competitiveness and sustain growth. We will focus on fundamental organizational improvement and solving chronic problems of participating companies rather than short-term remedies."
The Win-Win Growth Support Group identified and promoted improvement activities for a total of 176 tasks in four areas?Smart Factory construction, ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) issues such as safety and energy, equipment and process improvement, and technology development and innovation?targeting 49 SMEs over two years. This year, they plan to conduct detailed diagnostics on 10 companies by April, implement improvement tasks by the end of the year, and measure the outcomes.
A POSCO official stated, "To overcome the difficulties faced by SMEs amid complex crises such as high inflation, high interest rates, and low growth, we plan to continuously support SMEs through various programs including expanding the performance-sharing system, Smart Factory construction support projects, and low-interest loans via the Steel ESG Win-Win Fund."
