Gyeongbuk Province-Kakao Enterprise Business Agreement "Realizing Digital Gyeongbuk"

On the 29th, Gyeongbuk Province signed a business agreement with Kakao Enterprise at the provincial government office to realize Digital Gyeongbuk.


At the signing ceremony, Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, and Baek Sang-yeop, CEO of Kakao Enterprise, attended and shared their commitment to leading the digital transformation and the era of local governments by jointly solving regional issues through digital transformation in the public sector and smart city technologies.


Gyeongbuk Province plans to cooperate in various fields, including developing a public sector standardization model that expands and builds the provincial communication platform into a data platform based on a public-private cooperation network, leveraging this business agreement as an opportunity.


The main contents of the agreement include developing a standardization model for public messengers, mutual cooperation in discovering regional development projects and education based on AI and cloud, developing solutions to regional problems through sharing smart city technologies, developing promotional content in the culture and tourism sectors linked to Kakao Enterprise's intellectual assets, and creating public-private cooperation models to strengthen the IT competitiveness of local areas, with continuous follow-up projects planned.


After the signing ceremony, a launching ceremony was also held for 107 digital influencers selected as digital core leaders from each department of the provincial government to implement Digital Gyeongbuk.


The digital influencers attending the ceremony were mainly employees in their 20s and 30s with extensive digital cultural experience, who pledged to spread a free and creative digital culture within the organization and take the lead in digital transformation by sector and realizing Gyeongbuk as the metaverse capital, ushering in a new era of local governments and Digital Gyeongbuk.

Going forward, digital influencers will perform various roles including ① serving as core leaders of Gyeongbuk's 4th Industrial Revolution ② leading the smart digital transformation of administration ③ supporting the Metaverse Capital Gyeongbuk project ④ disseminating knowledge and information about the digital platform government ⑤ participating in the digital influencer joint community.


To this end, workshops and special lectures on digital transformation will be conducted for digital influencers, and a community will be created to share and spread best practices, discover digital transformation tasks by administrative sector, and strengthen their capabilities as digital core leaders.


Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, said, “Digital transformation in the public sector and solving regional problems using advanced technologies will be key to proactively leading the era of local governments in the rapidly changing 4th Industrial Revolution era,” adding, “I expect the business agreement with Kakao Enterprise and the launching ceremony of digital influencers to become the cornerstone of Digital Gyeongbuk innovation.”
