GS25 Launches Fusion Dessert 'Knan-sie'... Targeting MZ Generation

A New Interpretation of Financier

GS25 announced on the 29th that it will launch the ‘Knunangsie,’ a fusion reinterpretation of the French almond butter cake, Financier.


Knunangsie is a product that adds soft cream to the popular Financier found in cafes and dessert specialty stores. It is operated as a refrigerated product, and unlike the typical room-temperature Financier dessert, it is filled with about 2cm of dense cream between the Financier layers, allowing consumers to enjoy the unique dry texture of Financier in a soft and harmonious way, which is its distinguishing feature.


GS25 will release two types of Knunangsie, Vanilla Caramel and Yellow Cheese, on the 31st of this month, and plans to introduce Chocolate and Green Tea Custard by the 7th of next month.

Previously, GS25 collaborated with Cafe Billow to launch Cream Canele, a product tailored to the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) style based on the traditional French pastry, Canele. As a result, refrigerated dessert sales increased by 274.8% compared to the same period last year as of this month.


A GS25 representative stated, “We will continue to expand new dessert categories that customers have not experienced before, captivate their hearts, and lead the industry’s dessert market as a dessert hotspot.”
