Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the ‘Gwangjin-type Special Loan Business Agreement Ceremony’ on the 29th for small businesses and small merchants.

At this agreement ceremony prepared for the ‘Gwangjin-type Special Loan Support,’ Gwangjin-gu joined hands with the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation and KB Kookmin, Woori, Shinhan, and Hana Banks to sign a business agreement covering contributions, special guarantees, and interest subsidies necessary for support.

The ‘Gwangjin-type Special Loan Support,’ launched to help alleviate financial difficulties of small businesses and small merchants in the district lacking collateral, can provide up to 50 million KRW per company. With the district’s special 2% interest subsidy, a variable interest rate around 2% will be applied during the 2-year grace period, and the loan must be repaid in equal installments over 3 years after the grace period.

This time, the loan limit has been increased from last year’s maximum of 30 million KRW per company to 50 million KRW.

To support the special loan, Gwangjin-gu contributed 2 billion KRW to the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation and attracted 1.9 billion KRW in contributions from KB Kookmin, Woori, Shinhan, and Hana Banks, creating a total loan fund of 52.5 billion KRW. This is about 5.7 billion KRW more than last year.

Small businesses and small merchants who have been registered in Gwangjin-gu for more than 3 months as of the application date can apply for the special loan support starting April 19. However, support is restricted for ▲companies currently repaying loans supported by the Gwangjin-gu Small and Medium Business Development Fund ▲businesses in financial and insurance industries, entertainment bars, and other gambling facilities excluded from policy fund support ▲companies with a Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation guarantee history within the past year.

On April 19 and 20, a ‘concentrated consultation desk’ will operate in the large auditorium on the 6th floor of the Gwangjin Economic Hub Center, where consultations with the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation can be conducted without prior reservation. After April 20, consultations can be made by appointment at the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation Gwangjin branch.

Gwangjin-gu Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “I heard that loan support is what small businesses and small merchants need the most,” adding, “We will continue to strive to reduce the economic burden on small businesses and small merchants struggling under high interest rates.”
