Dream Tour Opening Victory Jang Eun-su: "I Want to Make My Name Known"

This is the comeback shot of Jang Eun-su, the 2017 Rookie of the Year. On the 28th, at the Lotte Skyhill Buyeo CC (Par 72, 676 yards) in Buyeo, Chungnam, Jang Eun-su clinched a 3-stroke victory (13-under 131) at the KLPGA SBS Golf·Lotte Open Dream (2nd tier) Tour (total prize money 70 million KRW). Right after winning, she exclaimed, "I had some expectations after a good performance in the first round, but I never thought I would win." She added, "I'm especially happy to win the opening event of the 2023 Dream Tour." She continued, "The fairways were narrow, so I focused a lot on course strategy," and explained, "My shots fell exactly as I planned, which helped me achieve a good result."

Jang Eun-su debuted on the KLPGA Tour in 2017 and was crowned Rookie of the Year. Although she did not win any tournaments that year, she entered the top 10 seven times and secured first place in rookie points. Since then, she has not produced notable results and has alternated between the regular tour and the Dream Tour. Last year, she ranked 93rd in prize money and placed 36th in the qualifying tournament, resulting in limited opportunities to participate in the first-tier tour. This year, Jang Eun-su is competing in both the regular tour and the Dream Tour.

Jang Eun-su said, "Since the 2017 season when I won Rookie of the Year, my shots have been unstable, and I haven't achieved good results." She expressed her determination, saying, "Golf fans have probably forgotten about me by now, but I want to participate in as many regular tour events as possible this year and make my name known again."

At the end of the Dream Tour season, the top 20 in the prize money rankings receive eligibility to participate in the regular tour next year. With this tournament victory, Jang Eun-su also secured a ticket to the KLPGA Tour Lotte Open in June. She calmly stated, "I often lose sight of the process when I focus too much on results, so I don't set goals for winning or records. My goal this season is to play shots that I can be satisfied with."
