Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Holds Teacher Forum on 'AI Literacy in the ChatGPT Era'

The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will hold a teacher forum on "AI Literacy in the ChatGPT Era" over two days, on the 29th and 31st.

The forum is organized to gather opinions from frontline teachers on the direction of artificial intelligence education in schools.

Previously, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education developed and distributed materials such as the "Seoul-style AI Ethics Education Materials" (for elementary schools) and "AI First Steps for Teachers" to support AI literacy. An AI education expert who participated in writing these materials will give a special lecture at this forum.

Also, since the forum will be conducted as a webinar, any teacher who wishes to participate can join online.

On the first day of the forum, the 29th, Professor Byeon Sun-yong from Seoul National University of Education will give a special lecture on "AI Ethics Education in the ChatGPT Era" starting at 3:30 PM, followed by discussions among frontline teachers on topics such as "ChatGPT and Ethics Education" and "AI Ethics Education Linked to the Curriculum."

The second forum will be held on the 31st from 3:30 PM, simultaneously online and offline at the Babieng2 Education Center and via webinar. Professor Kim Hyun-chul from Korea University will give a special lecture on "Education in the ChatGPT Era," and under the moderation of Professor Kim Su-hwan from Chongshin University, frontline teachers will discuss topics including "The Role of Teachers for AI Convergence Education" and "Educational Use of Generative AI."

Cho Hee-yeon, Superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "We will reflect the opinions of frontline teachers gathered at the forum in policies supporting teachers and the field to revitalize AI education in schools."
