The Korea Football Association announced on the 28th that it will grant amnesty to 100 football personnel who were disciplined for various misconducts, including match-fixing.

On the same day, the association held a board meeting at the conference room of Seoul World Cup Stadium and resolved to grant amnesty to 100 individuals currently under discipline, including former and current players, coaches, and referees. Among the 50 players expelled for involvement in the 2011 professional football match-fixing scandal, 48 were also included in the amnesty.
This is the first time in 14 years since 2009 that the association has granted amnesty to disciplined individuals. According to the association, those eligible for amnesty review are expelled football personnel whose disciplinary period has passed 7 years from the date of discipline, and those who received indefinite suspension from qualification or participation whose period has passed 5 years. Individuals who committed sexual misconduct such as sexual violence or harassment were excluded, and the association stated that amnesty was only considered for disciplined football personnel who had served more than half of their disciplinary period.
The association stated, "We are closely monitoring to ensure there is no misunderstanding that the association’s basic stance on match-fixing has changed," and added, "We will thoroughly prevent and supervise to ensure that incidents like match-fixing do not recur in any matches."
