Customized Consultations Implemented to Secure National Budget Funding
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) held consultations on the 27th at the county office situation room in coordination with the National Assembly and Jeollanam-do to secure national funding for 2024.
According to the county on the 28th, this consultation was arranged to firmly establish the rationale for securing the budget, such as the necessity and feasibility of the national funding projects, as the submission period for the 2024 budget proposal to central government ministries approaches.
As consultants for the national funding projects, Hwang Jun-ha and Lee Kyung-yoon, aides from National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok’s office, and Lee Seon-ho, head of the National Budget Team at Jeollanam-do Provincial Office, attended and intensively discussed a total of 34 projects worth 278.8 billion KRW with related department heads and team leaders.
The major projects discussed included △ Yeongsan River Neureoji District National River Waterfront Project △ Fisheries Village New Vitality Promotion Project △ Regional Specialized Rental-type Intelligent Farm Creation Project △ Sustainable Ecological Experience Infrastructure Construction Project △ Changpo District Drainage Improvement Project △ Bus Public Garage Support Project, among others.
Governor Kim San said, “Through this budget policy meeting, we were able to carefully review what needs to be supplemented for securing national funding in 2024 on a project-by-project basis,” and added, “Based on the consultation content, please thoroughly re-examine the national funding projects and strengthen the justification for their promotion, putting all efforts into securing the national budget.”
Meanwhile, to enhance understanding of government budgets and respond strategically, Muan-gun invited Lee Seon-ho, head of the National Budget Team at Jeollanam-do Provincial Office, on the 2nd to provide training to all employees on strategies for securing national budget funds.
Going forward, the process of securing national funding projects will be continuously monitored, and a progress report meeting is scheduled to be held next month.
