Microsoft Korea announced on the 28th that it supported LG Uplus in building an efficient digital communication culture through Viva Engage.
Viva Engage is a Microsoft Viva application that helps strengthen organizational connectivity and build communities. It can be seen as an enterprise social networking service (SNS). It aims to facilitate communication such as sharing news and strategies at work and exchanging opinions. It enables interactive information sharing and various campaigns that were difficult to conduct on typical bulletin board-style channels found in ordinary organizations.
LG Uplus introduced Viva Engage to reduce employees' communication burdens and increase participation. In the social media-style Viva Engage, anyone can express their opinions through comments and reactions such as 'likes.' Videos and photos can be shared as messages. LG Uplus utilized this to conduct morale-boosting contests sharing enjoyable daily life even during remote work and a 'Try and Tell' campaign where employees experience the company's new services and share their opinions.
Viva Engage also serves as a community role between organizations or employees beyond headquarters-led activities. It is used as a community for LG Uplus sales stores nationwide. Sales tips, cases, and customer consultation guides are produced as videos and shared. Since it is a dedicated channel accessible only to employees, security concerns about external information leakage are minimal.
Microsoft Viva is an employee experience platform included in the Microsoft 365 enterprise plan. LG Uplus plans to combine various data generated from Viva Engage, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 services and quantify them using AI-based analytical tools to strengthen internal communication capabilities.
Seongmi Oh, Head of Modern Work Business at Microsoft Korea, said, “Viva Engage organically connects all employees by helping build workplace communities and personal networks and strengthening relationships between employees and leaders. We will continue active cooperation with LG Uplus, which is establishing a corporate culture of working together through new communication channels suited for the hybrid work environment.”
