In areas including Cheoin-gu, Yongin, and Hakun 5 General Industrial Complex in Gimpo City, more than 248,000 households in 564 urban gas non-supplied areas within Gyeonggi Province will receive urban gas supply by next year.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 28th the two-year construction plan for urban gas supply facilities based on construction plans submitted by six urban gas providers in the province, including Samchully Co., Ltd.
According to the Urban Gas Business Act, the governor must establish and announce a two-year gas supply facility construction plan, including the current year, by the end of March each year.
This year, the province will invest 128.2 billion KRW to lay 267 km of new urban gas pipelines. The areas include 335 locations such as Cheoin-gu, Yongin City, covering approximately 126,000 households.
Next year, the province will invest 99.7 billion KRW to install an additional 224 km of urban gas pipelines. Installation areas include 229 locations such as the Hwayang district in Pyeongtaek City and the Daejang district in Bucheon City, covering about 122,000 households.
Detailed construction plans for supply facilities by region within the province can be checked on the websites of the respective cities or counties, the urban gas companies serving those areas, or the Gyeonggi Province website.
Kim Yeon-ji, Director of the Energy Industry Division of the province, stated, "The construction plans for urban gas supply facilities have been concretely finalized for the two years from this year to next year," adding, "We expect that this expansion of urban gas supply will enable the realization of more transparent and fair energy welfare."
