Donate to Seongdong-gu and Go to Seongsu-dong with 'Hotple Pass'

On the 27th, Seongdong-gu signed a memorandum of understanding with Coup Marketing Co., Ltd. to supply hometown love donation return gifts and cooperate in building a local brand

Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it has signed a business agreement with Coup Marketing Co., Ltd., a mobile platform company listed on ‘KakaoTalk Gift’, to activate the hometown love donation system and build a local brand.

At the signing ceremony held at Seongdong-gu Office on the 27th, Seongdong-gu Mayor Jung Won-oh and Coup Marketing CEO Jeon Woo-jung attended and promised ▲ supply of ‘Seongsu Hot Place Pass’ as a hometown love donation return gift ▲ activation of the hometown love donation system ▲ cooperation to build Seongdong-gu local brand.

Through this agreement, those who donate hometown love donations to Seongdong-gu will be able to receive the ‘Seongsu Hot Place Pass’ worth 30% of their donation as a return gift.

The ‘Seongsu Hot Place Pass’ is a mobile gift certificate that can be freely used at popular cafes and restaurants in the Seongsu-dong area, one of Seoul’s top three commercial districts. Currently, it can be used at 22 affiliated stores including Cafe Harabeoji Gongjang, Time After Time, Osaekchil, Cafe Seoul Forest, and more.

Although not living in Seongdong-gu, this return gift can be especially attractive to those who work or frequently visit the district. Since donations up to 100,000 KRW are fully tax-deductible, donating 100,000 KRW can provide benefits worth 130,000 KRW, including tax deductions and about 30,000 KRW in gift certificates.

Three months after the hometown love donation system was implemented, Seongdong-gu aims to leverage the characteristics of Seongsu-dong, a well-known ‘hot place’ in Seoul, to activate donations among the 2030 generation and build a local brand, pursuing both goals simultaneously.

Seongdong-gu Mayor Jung Won-oh said at the signing ceremony, “The hometown love donation system can be a way to grow cities and create new ‘hometowns’ through donations,” adding, “We will enrich and diversify Seongdong-gu’s local brand and spread a culture of donation for the region.”

Earlier this month, Seongdong-gu attracted attention as an urban-type leading model by unveiling hometown love donation usage plans that contribute evenly to ‘workplace’, ‘living space’, and ‘rest area’, including ▲ creation of a complex space for work, rest, and communication for office workers (Side Seongsu) ▲ busking venues and regular performances for urban culture (Live Seongdong) ▲ and promotion of residents’ culture, arts, and health.

The hometown love donation system can be participated in through online donations via the ‘Hometown Love e-um’ website and offline donations by visiting NH Nonghyup Bank.

Dobong-gu creates 10,300 jobs in the first year of the 8th local government, investing 53.2 billion KRW in job budget!

Presenting the vision of ‘Vibrant Win-Win Economic City Dobong’, establishing four major strategies

Plan to create 41,000 jobs by 2026

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will create 10,300 locally led jobs this year.

Based on the vision and goals for job creation in the 8th local government, promotion strategies, and sector-specific business plans, a comprehensive job plan was established aiming for 10,300 jobs and a 35.1% employment rate in 2023. The plan is to create 41,000 jobs by 2026.

Since the launch of the 8th local government, the district analyzed industrial structure and changes in local labor conditions, reviewed mayoral pledges, set job creation goals by department, and gathered regional opinions to present the vision of a ‘Vibrant Win-Win Economic City’ and established four major strategies: ▲ building job hub infrastructure ▲ revitalizing local self-sustainability ▲ establishing a foundation for youth independence ▲ strengthening local entrepreneurship capabilities.

So far, the district has shown its commitment to job creation and discovery by reorganizing the local economy department and establishing the Youth Future Department, putting job-centered departments at the forefront to focus on local economic revitalization and job creation projects in the 8th local government.

In 2023, starting with the completion of Seed Cube Changdong, an important project of the 8th local government, and building Changdong strategic industry infrastructure through Seoul Arena, the district will lead the establishment of unique job infrastructure such as revitalizing the existing commercial district in Changdong, supporting Dobong-style employment incentive grants, and encouraging small business owners to join the Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid.

Support for the local specialized sock industry, which produces two-thirds of the nation’s socks, will also be expanded in various ways including environmental improvement projects.

Through Seoul’s first small business manager project, the district supports local economic revitalization by resolving difficulties faced by small business owners, creates customized jobs reflecting demographic changes, and continuously plans and discovers vocational education and training suitable for the IT and 4th industrial era.

To activate youth employment and entrepreneurship and establish a foundation for youth independence, creative local specialized youth programs such as overseas internships for youth and public institution youth internships will be continuously developed and operated. To strengthen local entrepreneurship capabilities, the Dobong-gu Startup Incubation Center will be relocated to Seed Cube Changdong and expanded in the second half of this year.

Existing customized local job support for vulnerable groups such as seniors, middle-aged, disabled, and women will also be gradually expanded through Dobong Senior Club, Dobong Disabled Welfare Center, Women’s Center, and others.

Dobong-gu Mayor Oh Eon-seok said, “With the start of the 8th local government, we are making multifaceted efforts including organizational restructuring to create jobs and revitalize the local economy,” adding, “This year, we will promote unique policies such as the completion of Seed Cube Changdong and Seoul’s first small business manager project to make Dobong-gu a vibrant win-win economic city.”
