Local reports in Japan have emerged stating that the governments of South Korea and Japan are considering resuming the "Korea-Japan Security Dialogue" next month.


According to Kyodo News citing diplomatic sources, the governments of both countries are coordinating to restart the "Korea-Japan Security Dialogue," involving director-level officials from foreign and defense ministries, as early as next month.


President Yoon Suk-yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida agreed to an early resumption of the Korea-Japan Security Dialogue during their summit held in Tokyo on the 16th.


If resumed, the Korea-Japan Security Dialogue will be held for the first time in about five years since March 2018.
