Seo Jung-jin, Chairman of Celltrion, Second Son, 'Missing Incident'... Voluntarily Reported After About 2 Hours

Complaining of Emotional Anxiety Symptoms and Seeking Treatment
Yeonsu Police Station Concludes Case as 'Simple Disappearance'

Seo Jung-jin, chairman of the Celltrion Group, announced that his second son, Seo Jun-seok, director of Celltrion Healthcare (36), was found about two hours after going missing.


According to the Incheon Yeonsu Police Station on the 27th, a missing person report was filed at the Seoul Mapo Police Station around 1 p.m. on the 22nd of last month by Seo's family, stating that "there was no contact."

The Seoul Mapo Police Station transferred the case to the Yeonsu Police Station, which has jurisdiction over Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, where Seo was last seen. After the transfer, Yeonsu Police confirmed Seo's location in the Nonhyeon-dong area of Namdong-gu through tracking.


Subsequently, Yeonsu Police requested joint response from Nonhyeon Police Station, and Seo himself called 119 around 3:24 p.m. the same day, about two hours after the report was filed, reporting "danger" from a hotel near Soraepogu in Nonhyeon-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon.


At the scene, Seo showed signs of emotional distress and wished to receive hospital treatment. He was transported to the hospital by the 119 emergency medical team. With Seo's whereabouts confirmed, the police closed the case as a "simple missing person" incident.


A police official stated, "(There were) no particular circumstances related to a crime, and since the missing person's identity was confirmed, the case was closed."
