[Featured Stock] Welcron Hantec Boosts Energy Efficiency in Secondary Battery Cathode Material Facilities... Valuation Also 'Soars'

Welcron Hantec is showing strong performance. Amid the revaluation of corporate value for secondary battery-related companies in the domestic stock market, interest in Welcron Hantec's secondary battery equipment plant business appears to be growing.

As of 3:06 PM on the 27th, Welcron Hantec is trading at 5,640 KRW, up 6.02% from the previous trading day.

According to the business report submitted by Welcron Hantec, the company supplies the secondary battery cathode material production process?including crystallization, centrifugation, drying, and packaging stages?as a continuous turnkey process. Thanks to the turnkey supply, production time is significantly shortened and raw material recovery rates are increased. By applying eco-friendly energy-saving waste heat recovery technologies (MVR, TVR), steam energy saving efficiency is improved more than 20 times.

The electric vehicle battery market, which is the upstream market of the low-carbon energy sector, is experiencing rapid growth. According to SNE Research, a specialized market research firm for energy-saving batteries, the demand for core battery materials such as cathode materials, anode materials, and separators is increasing by more than 30% annually. It is expected that the equipment sector capable of producing high-efficiency, high-purity cathode materials in a short period to reduce battery costs will grow. Solvent recovery equipment used in the secondary battery separator manufacturing process is evaluated as having lower costs and higher production efficiency compared to Japanese companies in the Chinese market. As environmental regulations on wastewater treatment standards are strengthened and water reuse and recycling become issues across all industries, the company contributes to public hygiene and environmental preservation by supplying zero-discharge equipment for treating hazardous wastewater from food waste, livestock, and power plants using concentration, drying, distillation, and crystallization equipment.

Lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate are mainly used for high-capacity electric vehicle batteries because they are easy to synthesize with nickel, which increases battery capacity. They have strong electrochemical properties and are used as lithium oxide forms for battery cathode materials. Welcron Hantec provides a turnkey process that concentrates and crystallizes supplied lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate aqueous solutions into saturated solutions, followed by dehydration and drying.

Nickel sulfate, cobalt sulfate, and manganese sulfate are raw materials used to make cathode materials, which are core components of secondary batteries. Welcron Hantec offers a turnkey process that includes concentration, crystallization, dehydration, drying, and packaging of supplied aqueous solutions of nickel sulfate, cobalt sulfate, and manganese sulfate.

Secondary battery separators play a key role in all secondary batteries by separating the cathode and anode and allowing ions to move quickly through the electrolyte. Welcron Hantec's solvent recovery equipment separates and reuses high-purity MC (Methylene Chloride) from waste MC aqueous solutions mixed with oil during the wet manufacturing process of secondary battery separators. This equipment plays a crucial role in reducing manufacturing costs.

Welcron Hantec entered the secondary battery market by supplying cathode material concentration and crystallization equipment domestically since 2016 and solvent recovery equipment to the Chinese market since 2017. Among the energy-saving equipment supplied, the flagship product is the MVR concentration equipment that maximizes energy savings, with an estimated domestic market share of over 30%.

Welcron Hantec operates in the eco-friendly sector and is considered one of the 'ESG management companies.' Its core businesses include eco-friendly wastewater treatment equipment, energy-saving equipment, and secondary battery cathode material extraction equipment. It is expected to enhance corporate value by strengthening ESG management and establishing a new outside board of directors through the shareholders' meeting.
