Inspection of Maritime Security Conditions at Beaches and Other Visited Areas
On the 27th, Kim Hae-cheol, Chief of the Mokpo Maritime Police Station, visited security sites in Amtai-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, to inspect various situations and listen to opinions.
According to the Mokpo Maritime Police, Chief Kim visited the Amtai Police Substation to check the marine safety management during the farming season and the emergency response system for various accidents, encouraged the staff for their hard work, and listened to difficulties and suggestions.

In particular, he presented a letter of appreciation to Jeong Gwang-bok (59, captain of the Navidho), a member of the private marine rescue team who supported the maritime police’s search and rescue activities during last month’s fishing vessel ‘Cheongboho’ capsizing and sinking accident, expressing gratitude for his active cooperation with the maritime police work.
He then visited the construction site of the Bigeum branch office building to check △progress status △performance of site supervisors’ duties △establishment of manuals for major disaster preparedness and response △understanding of mandatory legal education on safety and health, urging for safe and smooth construction progress.
He also visited Dochon Simok Beach and Hwado Wharf, coastal accident-prone areas, to inspect safety management facilities such as lifesaving equipment boxes, preparing for various safety accident risks including marine casualties during the holiday season.
Chief Kim Hae-cheol said, “Please continuously inspect and prepare for risk factors of marine accidents that could lead to major casualties, and do your best on site so that the public can feel safe and active in marine activities.”
