Relay Popup Targeting Nearby University Students During Semester Start Season
Local Dessert Hotspots Including Jeju Sand, Onnidang, and Gyeonggimidang
Hanwha Connect announced on the 27th that it will operate a dessert pop-up store targeting the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) at Connect Place Cheongnyangni Station.
A pop-up by 'Onnidang,' a shell-shaped macaron specialty brand headquartered in Jangan-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, will be held at the entrance of Connect Park on the 3rd floor of Connect Place Cheongnyangni Station until the 16th of next month. Onnidang, famous for its shell-shaped macarons and a popular spot among the MZ generation, participated in the Seoul Dessert Fair, where it recorded a sell-out in the first session due to a waiting line of over two hours and a rush at opening.
Popular regional dessert brands loved by the MZ generation, such as 'Gyeonggimidang,' a rice castella injeolmi (rice cake) shop from Ansan, and 'David Choux,' a French traditional choux pastry specialty store, will be showcased in pop-up form.
Earlier, from the 10th to the 14th, a pop-up store for 'Jeju Badassand,' a handmade cookie specialty shop, was operated to celebrate White Day, selling signature sand cookies limited to 40 pieces daily from Bada Bara, a famous bakery cafe in Seogwipo, Jeju.
A Hanwha Connect official said, "With the start of the semester, we planned pop-up stores featuring popular regional dessert brands targeting nearby university students and the MZ generation in March and April. In May, the month of family, we plan to introduce dessert brands that the whole family can enjoy, offering new popular spots and various promotions so that consumers can continuously visit Connect Place."
Meanwhile, Connect Place is a complex cultural space operated by Hanwha Connect. It operates at two stations: Seoul Station and Cheongnyangni Station.
