70 Events in Busan and Gyeongbuk Over 5 Weeks
Colorful Activities Including Spring Flower Outings and Pony Experiences
Korea Racing Authority LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam (Head Song Dae-young) announced the horse racing schedule and spring outing events for April this year.
In April, a total of 70 races will be held over 10 days across 5 weeks in Busan and Gyeongnam. Every Friday, 8 races will be held in Busan and Gyeongnam along with 1 relay race from Jeju.
On Saturdays, 10 races from Seoul and 4 races from Jeju will be relayed, and on Sundays, 11 relay races from Seoul and 6 races held in Busan and Gyeongnam will take place. Among the 70 races held in Busan and Gyeongnam, 53 are for domestic horses, 14 are mixed races for domestic and foreign horses, and 3 are graded stakes races.
The first race on Friday, the Jeju race, starts at 11:00 AM, and the first races on Saturday and Sunday, the Seoul races, start at 10:35 AM. The last race on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all start at 6:00 PM.
Starting in April, the Triple Crown series (a series of 3 races) to select the best horses of 2023 will officially begin.
On the 2nd, the first leg of the "Sprinter Series," the Busan Ilbo Cup (Mixed 3 years old and up, 6th race, 1200m), will be held, marking the start of selecting the best sprinter.
The "Triple Tiara" series to select the best domestic 3-year-old fillies and the "Triple Crown" series to select the best domestic 3-year-old horses will also be held.
On the 23rd, the first leg of the "Triple Tiara" series, the Lunas Stakes (Domestic 3-year-old fillies, 6th race, 1600m), will take place. On the 30th, the first leg of the "Triple Crown" series, the KRA Cup Mile (Domestic 3-year-old colts and fillies, 6th race, 1600m), will be held, where horses from Seoul and Busan will compete for a total prize of 700 million KRW.
In spring, LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam is blooming with cherry blossoms and camellias, making it a popular outing spot for families.
The park announced, "We recommend taking memorable photos on the colorful flower paths spread across the vast grounds and enjoying healing time by watching the small pony horses."
Busan-Gyeongnam Racing Park creates a festive atmosphere with various attractions ranging from the "Maljukgeori Market" held every Sunday to flea markets and food trucks.
