"Strengthening Capabilities to Respond to Overseas Phase 2 Reviews"

Asiana Airlines has stepped up efforts to obtain approval for the overseas merger review with Korean Air.

On the 27th, Asiana Airlines announced that it recently launched an 'Enterprise-wide Merger TF' to concentrate its full organizational capabilities on securing approval for the overseas merger review.

The TF, led by Acting CEO Won Yu-seok, consists of a total of 42 executives and employees, including 7 executives. This is a significant reinforcement compared to the previous TF, which was led by the Head of Strategic Planning.

This TF is divided into a general group, centered on the Legal and Strategic Planning divisions, and a support group composed of Passenger, Cargo, Finance, and External Cooperation divisions to enhance efficiency. The general group is responsible for compiling, reviewing, and coordinating opinions with advisory firms on documents ultimately submitted to competition authorities. The support group focuses on generating materials requested by competition authorities.

As the second phase of the overseas competition authorities' review has begun, the volume of requested materials from each authority has increased significantly. To strengthen the response capabilities, a TF operating system centered on the Acting CEO was established, and additional operational personnel were reinforced.

Asiana Airlines stated, "This TF was formed to support approval for the overseas merger review, and led by Acting CEO Won Yu-seok, Asiana Airlines plans to dedicate its full organizational capabilities."
