Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has postponed the announcement date for the winners of the Happy Housing tenants from the originally scheduled January 24 to January 31.
According to the county, the delay was unavoidable due to the considerable time required for responses from related agencies following the qualification verification (financial assets, income, home ownership status, etc.) of applicants, which took longer than initially expected. Additionally, to ensure fairness in tenant selection, a significant period was allotted for applicants deemed ineligible to provide explanations.
An official from Happy Housing stated, “The January 19, 2023 tenant recruitment announcement indicated that the winner announcement could be postponed due to the time needed for qualification verification and inquiries with related agencies. To minimize confusion, updates will be posted on the website and individual notifications will be provided to applicants.”
They added, “We will adjust the Happy Housing tenant selection schedule to thoroughly review applicants’ eligibility, preventing ineligible candidates from being selected in advance, and enhance the fairness and transparency of the tenant selection process to ensure a smooth contract for Happy Housing tenants. After the announcement of winners, we will promptly proceed with subsequent steps (contract procedures) so that winners can move in by April.”
According to the postponed announcement schedule, the Happy Housing winners in Hamyang-gun will be posted on the Hamyang-gun website on January 31, and individual notifications will be sent to both winners and those not selected.
