Kim Ki-hyun: "Constitutional Court Decision, the Unconstitutional Sophistry of the 'Minwoo-guk Cartel'"

"Throwing Away Conscience and Acting as a Political Party's Lackey"

Kim Ki-hyun, the leader of the People Power Party, criticized the Constitutional Court's decision that the so-called 'Complete Removal of Prosecutorial Investigation Rights Act (검수완박법)' is valid, calling it a "unconstitutional sophistry by the 'Minwoo-guk (Minbyun, Uri Law Research Association, International Human Rights Law Research Association)' cartel."

On the 26th, Kim said on Facebook, "I was shocked by the news that the Democratic Party criticized Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon, who said it is 'difficult to agree with the conclusion' of the Constitutional Court's decision to uphold the effectiveness of the Complete Removal of Prosecutorial Investigation Rights Act, calling him 'shameless for denying the court's decision with a mouth that once shouted for freedom, rule of law, and constitutional protection,' and stating that he has 'lost qualifications as Minister of Justice.'"

He added, "There is a limit even to impudence; the Democratic Party, which has mocked the rule of law, does not deserve to speak even if it had ten mouths," and "It is a spectacle that a party that should be ashamed and hide in a small hole is instead raising its voice loudly."

He continued, "This decision made by the 'pseudo-party cartel' composed of members from Minbyun, Uri Law Research Association, and International Human Rights Law Research Association can only be seen as a repayment to the Democratic Party that promoted them, and it is an act of constitutional destruction," and "I express deep anger and regret at your audacity to arrogantly impersonate the names of the justices after abandoning your conscience and acting as mere servants of a political party."

Kim stated, "History will punish you, who have corrupted scholarship for personal gain, for shamelessness," and "The logic that 'once stolen, it is valid' even after committing 'robbery' might work only in uncivilized primitive societies, but it must never be tolerated in a normal liberal democratic rule-of-law state."
