The district operates various health lecture programs on chronic diseases, fall prevention, and more at seven senior colleges until November
With the lifting of social distancing and mask mandates, the program is fully resumed... 18 lectures will be held, open to all senior college members
Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) is fully resuming the operation of the 'Visiting Senior College Health Lecture Program' this year to improve seniors' health awareness and encourage voluntary healthy living practices.
The 'Visiting Senior College Health Lecture Program' was operated in a limited capacity until last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the lifting of social distancing and mask mandates, it plans to visit senior college members this year with diverse and beneficial lectures.
The district will conduct a total of 18 lectures at seven senior colleges in the area from this month through November.
Topics include ▲chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia) ▲eye health ▲fall prevention ▲cognitive health ▲mental health ▲laughter classes, with expert instructors from Seoul St. Mary's Hospital Rehabilitation Medicine Team, Seocho-gu Dementia Safety Center, and the Korea Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness. Any senior college member in the area can attend.
On the 9th, the first lecture of the year, ‘Fall Prevention Exercise Education,’ was held at Jamwon-dong Church (Jangsu College), attended by about 80 seniors who learned lifestyle rules and exercise methods to prevent fall accidents.
One senior who attended the lecture said, “I was glad to meet senior college members after a long time, and it was a valuable time to learn fall prevention exercises from the instructor. I definitely want to attend the next class.”
