Changnyeong-gun Holds the 13th Tuberculosis Prevention Day Campaign

Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held a tuberculosis prevention street campaign on the 23rd at the permanent market area in Changnyeong-eup to mark the 13th Tuberculosis Prevention Day.

Tuberculosis is a respiratory disease transmitted through the air, mainly affecting the lungs, and can infect anyone. Since symptoms may not appear, if you have a cough lasting more than two weeks, sputum, fever, weight loss, or fatigue, you can visit the county health center to confirm the presence of tuberculosis through X-ray screening and sputum tests.

The county health center is focusing on minimizing patient occurrence and blocking transmission within the region by promoting various tuberculosis management projects such as early screening and infection prevention education targeting vulnerable groups like workers in care facilities, the elderly, and homeless people.

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease representing disruption and poverty, and many patients still suffer from it. Diagnosed patients receive one-on-one customized case management until complete recovery, and tuberculosis screening is free of charge.

A county official stated, “We will do our best to create a tuberculosis-free Changnyeong-gun through various promotions such as getting tuberculosis screenings, balanced nutrition to enhance immunity, regular exercise, indoor ventilation, and practicing proper cough etiquette.”

Meanwhile, on the same day, the campaign was also conducted to foster a healthy community environment by raising social awareness about illegal drugs and drug abuse and to prevent drug-related crimes.
