Seokgwan Youth Center Opens on the 23rd as a Complex Cultural and Counseling Space for Youth
Constructed with 1st to 4th floors above ground, on a site area of 53 pyeong, and a total floor area of 100 pyeong
Equipped with a healthy youth play culture space offering various activity programs and counseling services
The ‘Seokgwan Youth Center,’ a complex cultural and counseling space for youth in the Seokgwan area of Seongbuk-gu, has opened its doors.
The Seokgwan Youth Center serves as a counseling and activity/play space for youth, constructed with 1st to 4th floors above ground, on a site area of 53 pyeong, and a total floor area of 100 pyeong. ▲On the 1st floor, there is a youth rest cafe and a community space called Eoullimteo (cafe culture space) ▲On the 2nd floor, Dodammaroo (sports activity program operation) ▲On the 3rd floor, counseling spaces ▲On the 4th floor, youth free space and study rooms are provided.
The Seokgwan Youth Center was selected in 2019 as part of Seoul’s ‘10-Minute Neighborhood Life SOC Pilot Project’ and was constructed according to the ‘Seokgwan-dong Youth Cultural Arts Facility Construction Promotion Plan.’ After groundbreaking, in 2021, the ‘Youth Culture and Counseling Activity Space Plan’ was added, and the center was selected for the ‘Youth Counseling Welfare Center Branch Support Project.’
The opening ceremony held on the afternoon of the 23rd was attended by residents and district officials who celebrated the opening. The center plans to provide various educational and activity programs as well as counseling services for local youth going forward.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said at the opening ceremony, “I am very pleased to finally present the Seokgwan Youth Center to the residents and youth. This facility was opened thanks to the cooperation and support of residents, local members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, and local organizations, so I hope it becomes a space that our youth use meaningfully.”
The Seokgwan Youth Center operates from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and public holidays.
