Jungsan Public Information Library Creates Open-Access Reading Room... Reborn as a Cafe-Style Reading Space
Open from 8 AM to 10 PM... Reading, Relaxation, and Use of Noise-Generating Digital Devices Allowed
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that the first reading room of the Jungsan Public Information Library has been renovated into an open-access reading room resembling a cafe.
To improve the 4th-floor first reading room of Jungsan Information Library into a user-centered open complex cultural space, environmental improvement work was carried out to convert it into an open-access reading room.
The existing partitioned reading desks in the first reading room were replaced with open furniture, and new lighting was installed, transforming it into a cafe-style reading space preferred by users.
The open-access reading room operates from 8 AM to 10 PM every day, including weekdays and weekends. It can be used freely without separate seat reservations, allowing visitors to read, relax, or use personal digital devices such as laptops and tablets that may generate noise.
For inquiries about using the library's open-access reading room, please contact the general reading room of Jungsan Public Information Library.
A representative of Eunpyeong-gu Jungsan Public Information Library said, “We will continue to plan space configurations from the users' perspective to provide convenience services so that anyone can freely use the library and it becomes a space where people want to stay for a long time.”
