Creation of Cherry Blossom Night Trail at Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest

Installation of Landscape Lighting on 'Beotkkot Ending-gil'

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that it has installed nighttime landscape lighting along the cherry blossom path at Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest to offer visitors a variety of sights both day and night.

The cherry blossom path is a 300-meter round-trip section starting behind the Wood Culture Experience Center and extending to Chusan Stream, a local river. It is the area within the natural recreation forest where cherry trees are most densely clustered, making it a frequently visited spot every spring for viewing cherry blossoms.

The city installed nighttime landscape lighting and benches along the entire path to satisfy visitors who wish to use the cherry blossom path at night and to provide a different emotional experience of the recreation forest that cannot be felt during the day, creating a space for rest and social gatherings.

In line with this year’s cherry blossom blooming period, the nighttime landscape lighting will be turned on, and after the petals fall, floodlights with added colors will be illuminated to increase seasonal usability, operating the forest as a unique walking course.

Im Gyeong-am, head of the Recreation Forest Office, said, “A romantic cherry blossom path has been created at Baegunsan Natural Recreation Forest,” adding, “We hope the cherry blossoms that arrive with the spring sunshine will offer visitors opportunities for inspiration and healing.”
