Silla University, Completion Ceremony for the 'Picture Book Education Counselor Qualification Course'

The Department of Library and Information Science at Silla University held a completion ceremony for the 'Picture Book Education Counselor Certification Course,' a major-customized educational activity aimed at training information curators.


This program was conducted for enrolled students interested in reading counseling and covered comprehensive theory and practical lectures on picture books, including ▲the concept and structure of picture books ▲the history of picture books ▲picture book authors ▲picture book emotion coaching ▲picture book curation. A total of 12 students obtained certification.

Kim Gangsan, a student of the Department of Library and Information Science at Silla University who participated in the training, said, “Obtaining the Picture Book Education Counselor certification enhanced my professional capabilities as a librarian,” and added, “It was also a great help in setting my future career path.”


Cha Seongjong, head of the Department of Library and Information Science at Silla University, stated, “In the face of a digital knowledge-based society, humanities literacy is very important to respond to future social changes,” and added, “Our department will promote dynamic educational activities through the operation of major-customized curricula so that students’ dreams can become reality.”


The Department of Library and Information Science at Silla University has been training librarians and librarian teachers based on over 40 years of long history and tradition. In particular, in the 2021 academic year, it produced 10 successful candidates in the elementary and secondary school librarian teacher appointment exam, achieving first place in the number of successful candidates in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) region.
