On the 23rd, the Goheung Police Station in Jeonnam announced that they have arrested and are investigating a man in his 60s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of murder for setting fire to an acquaintance's body during a money-betting Yutnori game.

Mr. A is accused of pouring gasoline on Mr. B, a senior-junior acquaintance in the neighborhood, and setting him on fire in a container temporary building serving as a community room in a village in Nokdong, Goheung-gun, Jeonnam, on November 4th last year.

Mr. B suffered severe burns all over his body and was taken to the hospital, but he reportedly died on the 20th, about four months later.

The police recognized that this case, in which a hospitalized patient died, was not a typical accidental death but a violent crime, and began investigating the circumstances.

Police secured multiple eyewitness testimonies stating that the incident occurred when Mr. B, who had won money playing Yutnori, was about to leave the place, and they urgently arrested Mr. A on suspicion of murder.

It was reported that Mr. A did not report the incident to investigative authorities after it occurred and pretended as if Mr. B had an accident.

The police plan to determine the direction of Mr. A's custody and legal proceedings after accurately identifying the details of the incident.
