Hong Young-geun, head of the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, visited the Suncheonman International Garden Expo site to conduct a safety inspection of the event venue.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 23rd, Director Hong toured key sites within the venue and checked initial response measures for various disasters during the event period.
At the safety management plan briefing for the Garden Expo, attended by about 20 people including the Mayor of Suncheon, the Chief of Suncheon Fire Station, and members of the organizing committee, he listened to the safety management plan and discussed support measures.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters is promoting special fire safety measures for the Suncheonman National Garden to ensure the successful hosting of the Suncheonman International Garden Expo.
They will eliminate risk factors through prior fire safety inspections of the expo site and operate an on-site command post for rapid disaster response.
Joint drills for rescuing and providing first aid to multiple casualties will be conducted to strengthen initial disaster response capabilities, and fire forces will be deployed forward with enhanced patrols of the venue during both day and night.
In particular, under Director Hong’s special instructions, team-level commanders from the headquarters will support on-site duties on weekends, when a large number of visitors are expected.
Director Hong Young-geun said, “We will closely cooperate with related organizations such as the organizing committee to prioritize the safety of tourists at the event venue,” and added, “As this is an international event held in the province, we will strive for a successful event without any safety accidents.”
