Creating a Safe and Healthy Workplace

Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province held the 1st quarter 2023 Industrial Safety and Health Committee meeting in the small conference room of the county office to prevent industrial accidents and create a safe workplace.

The Industrial Safety and Health Committee is an organization that deliberates and resolves important matters related to the safety and health of on-site workers affiliated with the county, in accordance with Article 24 of the Industrial Safety and Health Act.

At the meeting held on the 22nd, labor and management communicated to ensure the safety of affiliated workers, including ▲ deliberation and resolution on amendments to the Safety and Health Management Regulations ▲ special health examinations for kitchen workers ▲ 2023 industrial accident prevention plans.

The committee is composed of Chairman Jo Geun-je, 8 employer representatives, and 8 worker representatives, and holds regular meetings every quarter regarding labor-management cooperation.

Chairman Jo said, “Since accidents cannot be prevented by the efforts of one person alone, I expect the valuable role of the committee members in achieving 'Zero Major Accidents' and creating a safe and healthy workplace.”

The county plans to establish a safety and health management system to prevent major accidents, conduct workplace safety and health inspections, measure work environments, perform special health examinations, and provide safety and health education for workers.

Meanwhile, in accordance with the government’s major accident reduction roadmap, the county intends to strengthen its self-regulatory prevention system, including conducting risk assessments with labor and management participation, to ensure the safety of residents and employees.
