"Galbook Ultra, Aiming for the Best in Performance and Quality"
"Global Market Response Positive... Sales 2.5 Times Higher Than Previous Model"
Samsung Electronics MX Division President (CEO) No Tae-moon's ambitious project, the 'Galaxy Book3 Series,' is receiving strong global market response, recording sales 2.5 times higher than its predecessor. In particular, the flagship product, the Ultra, is highly praised as a product that satisfies both performance and portability through optimal design, significantly contributing to the expansion of market share in the premium laptop segment.
Shim Hwang-yoon, Senior Vice President and Head of New Computing Hardware Development Group 2 at Samsung Electronics MX Division, stated at a media briefing held on the 23rd at the Samsung Electronics press room in Jung-gu, Seoul, "The global market response to the recently launched Galaxy Book3 Series is very positive, and sales have reached 2.5 times that of the previous model so far."
He added, "Especially, the Galaxy Book3 Ultra is a newly developed lineup this year, aiming to be the best of the best in terms of performance and quality. We strived to incorporate the best innovation that satisfies both performance and portability, and aimed to develop it as a product that sets a new standard for premium."
The Ultra name has traditionally been used for the top-tier Galaxy smartphone models, and this is the first time it has been applied to the Galaxy Book series. Connectivity between products such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs has been greatly enhanced, providing a seamless user experience across various devices owned by Galaxy customers.
The key challenge in developing the Galaxy Book3 Ultra was to ensure top performance while maintaining lightweight mobility. To equip powerful components, a certain level of product thickness and weight must be maintained, but for portability, a completely different approach from previous models was devised starting from the board design. To this end, the placement of the CPU, GPU, and memory was optimized. Various board layouts were conceptualized in the early development stage, and the most efficient board design was finalized through prototypes.

The cooling system was also effectively redesigned. Various design verifications were conducted, including the position and size of the cooling fan and fan structures that optimize airflow. Additionally, the finalized CPU, GPU, and fan layout was designed to deliver high-speed external ports without signal loss. In fact, the Galaxy Book3 Ultra’s mainboard was redesigned 'eight times' to cleanly and losslessly transmit signals between various types of ports, achieving optimization through persistent effort.
The biggest feature of the Galaxy Book3 Series is that content sharing has become easier. Through the Quick Share function, photos, videos, and documents on smartphones can be conveniently transferred to the Galaxy Book. Hardware sharing between devices is also possible. Using Multi Control, the Galaxy Book’s keyboard and touchpad can control a smartphone or tablet. The Galaxy Tab can also be used as an extended monitor via the Second Screen feature.
‘Link to Windows’ reduces the boundary between PC and mobile environments. Messages, notifications, and file transfers can be freely accessed and managed from both the Galaxy Book and smartphone. The connected experience between Galaxy devices was realized through strategic collaboration with major partners such as Microsoft, Intel, and NVIDIA.
Senior Vice President Shim said, "Due to the environmental changes brought about by COVID-19, the traditional family PC is being replaced by personal PCs, and demand for office-to-branch office setups continues to emerge," adding, "We believe that by responding to these opportunities with Samsung’s proper products, we can expand our market presence further."
