In addition, in the first half of the year, a 'Dobong Sock Drawing Contest' will be held for elementary school students in the area to increase residents' interest and participation in the district's representative industry. In the second half, a 'Sock Manufacturing Flea Market' will be held to promote regionally specialized products of the sock manufacturing industry and to develop various sales channels for manufacturers.

Next year, the 'Dobong Sock Sales Support Center' will be established and operated as a joint sales and communication hub related to Dobong-gu's sock manufacturing industry. The district will also participate in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Small-scale Manufacturer Complex Support Center Construction and Operation Project' contest to build the 'Dobong-gu Sock & Sewing Complex Support Center' for long-term development.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "We will actively support the sock manufacturing industry, which has been struggling due to recent raw material price increases, so that it can regain vitality. We will do our best to firmly establish Dobong-gu as the mecca of Korea's sock industry."

Dobong-gu's sock manufacturing industry has grown as an urban manufacturing sector since the 1970s, currently producing 40% of the nation's socks. It has formed a production cluster centered around Chang-dong, Banghak-dong, and Ssangmun-dong, covering knitting, sewing, processing, and finishing stages of sock production.
