Hapcheon-gun Promotes Re-selection of Latest Tourism and Consumption Trends

Survey for Re-selecting Attractions, Shopping, and Food Options

Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting an online and offline opinion survey to reselect Hapcheon’s representative attractions (Gyeong), products (Pum), and food (Mi) considering the latest tourism and consumption trends.

The county previously conducted a preliminary survey targeting county officials regarding newly recommended Gyeong, Pum, and Mi items, as well as items among the existing 8 Gyeong, 8 Pum, and 8 Mi that need to be excluded or modified.

Accordingly, the county will conduct a preference survey on the newly recommended items based on the preliminary data from the first survey. It will also collect opinions on newly recommended items not listed and on items proposed for exclusion or modification.

The survey will be conducted for 30 days from March 22 to April 20, and anyone interested in Hapcheon-gun’s Gyeong, Pum, and Mi, including residents and those originally from Hapcheon, can participate through the banner on the county website or by scanning the QR code on the notice. Offline participation is also possible through materials available at the town and township civil service offices.

A county official stated, “We plan to newly organize the county’s representative attractions, products, and food by collecting opinions not only from residents such as institutions, social organizations, and village chiefs of towns and townships but also from various groups who love the county, including those originally from here. We hope for active interest and participation from many people who love Hapcheon.”

Meanwhile, so far, Gayasan, Haeinsa Temple, Hongryudong Valley, Namsan Jeilbong Peak, Hambyeokru Pavilion, Hapcheon Lake and Baekri Cherry Blossom Road, Hwanggye Waterfall, and Moksanjae of Hwangmaesan Mountain have been designated as the 8 Gyeong of Hapcheon. Hapcheon porcelain, Hapcheon red soil Hanwoo beef, Hapcheon native pork, Hapcheon rice, Hapcheon wheat, Hapcheon paprika, ice strawberries, and Hapcheon onions have been designated as the 8 Pum. Sanchae Jeongsik (wild vegetable set meal), native pork soup, Hapcheon persimmons, Songgi rice cake, freshwater catfish stew, Hapcheon Makgeolli, chestnut jelly, and steamed catfish have been designated as the 8 Mi, representing the county.
