They shared key issues in the traffic sector this year, such as ▲publication of a booklet on major laws and cases related to traffic facilities ▲comprehensive maintenance of school zone protection areas during the start of the school term ▲promotion of improvements to facilities related to traffic fatal accidents.
They also attended practical lectures on facility laws and installation cases using the booklet "Small Advice for Facility Managers," which was produced by the provincial police traffic division.
The so-called "Start" booklet was created this year to strengthen the capabilities of newly appointed staff.

The booklet contains ▲the role of traffic facility managers ▲major traffic-related laws ▲methods for installing traffic facilities ▲cases of incorrect facility installation ▲installation methods by facility type and cause in the event of a traffic accident.
Facility managers resolved their questions and exchanged opinions to solve work-related issues through the booklet and lectures.
As key tasks to be promoted this year for ensuring pedestrian safety and providing pedestrian convenience, they pointed to the installation of diagonal crosswalks and simultaneous pedestrian signals.
According to the managers, diagonal crosswalks allow pedestrians to cross in all directions, including diagonally, reducing the number of times pedestrians cross intersections to just once.
All-direction pedestrian green signals are lit, blocking vehicle entry and simultaneously ensuring pedestrian safety and convenience.
Simultaneous pedestrian signals are a signal operation method that turns on the pedestrian green signals for all crosswalk directions within an intersection at the same time.
The managers also agreed to focus on installing roundabouts, expanding safety facilities in school zones and school routes, continuously promoting the Gyeongnam Traffic Facility Solomon for field study groups, and expanding facility improvements for elderly protection.
On the day, the Autonomous Police Committee emphasized cooperation among related agencies to continue the first project for establishing a people-centered safe traffic culture, the "Safe School Route Creation Project from Home to School," and the installation project of the recessed LED marker "Safe Crosswalk Light," which enhances driver visibility at non-signalized crosswalks with high risk of traffic accidents during rainy weather.
Park Cheon-su, the autonomous deputy director, said, "A traffic paradigm focused on protecting pedestrians rather than vehicles is important," and added, "Facility managers should strive to protect the lives of residents and property worth hundreds of billions."
