Google's Surprise 'Easter Egg' Sparks Buzz

Moves with 'Force' in Search Results Window

The new Star Wars spin-off drama series "The Mandalorian" on Disney+ was released on the 8th, and Google has prepared a "surprise Easter egg" that is capturing the attention of netizens.

As of the 22nd, when you search for "Mandalorian" in the Google search bar, one of the main characters of the drama, "Grogu," appears at the bottom of the webpage.

Grogu is a key alien character that runs through the entire storyline of the Mandalorian series. His appearance resembles the famous character Yoda from the past Star Wars series, but he looks younger. With his unique cute design, he is very popular among fans.

Netizens have already captured and posted images of the Grogu character on online communities and social networking services (SNS). Comments such as "a cute Easter egg" and "a clever advertisement" have been made.

Google's Mandalorian Easter egg seems to have started on the 1st, coinciding with the initial release of The Mandalorian on Disney+ in North America.

Local media outlets such as "Digital Trends" also paid attention to the Easter egg at the time, explaining that "it works on both desktop and mobile screens" and that "it's a way to enjoy a bit of fun while you search."

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian is a live-action drama series by Disney and a spin-off of Star Wars, one of North America's biggest blockbuster sci-fi movies. When Season 1 aired in 2019, it received praise from the Star Wars fanbase, and currently, up to Season 3 has been released.

In particular, Season 3 attracted attention in Korea as director Lee Isaac Chung, who won 112 trophies at film festivals worldwide for the movie "Minari," directed some episodes.
