Gwangju Dong-gu Appoints Dedicated Travel Agency and Tourism SNS Supporters

On the 22nd, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will hold an appointment ceremony for 31 dedicated travel agencies and 16 tourism SNS supporters to expand tourism products and attract domestic and international group tourists, and will begin full-scale promotional marketing activities.

Dong-gu plans to join forces to revitalize tourism by selling night and stay-type tourism products, attracting domestic and international tourists, and continuously discovering tourism product ideas together with 28 existing dedicated travel agencies and 3 newly selected agencies this year.


Through this, by December, the top 10 agencies will be selected based on their tourist attraction performance and awarded prize money. In fact, despite difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the dedicated travel agencies in Dong-gu have achieved tangible results by attracting over 5,000 paying tourists over the past two years.


In addition, influencers who were finally selected as tourism SNS supporters will cover Dong-gu’s unique tourism resources such as the upcoming Memories of Chungjang Festival scheduled for October and the National Asian Culture Complex, and will actively serve as promotional ambassadors using SNS.


A certain fee will be paid based on future performance, and an award ceremony by the district mayor will be held at the end of the year for outstanding performers.


Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, “Please actively promote Dong-gu, which has diverse charms, through the collaboration of dedicated travel agencies and tourism SNS supporters throughout this year,” adding, “As daily life recovery is in full swing, we will do our best to ensure that many people can experience various attractions, sights, and foods by visiting Dong-gu.”
