The ‘Health Check’ project supports five health-vulnerable households identified by the Gijang-eup Community Social Security Council with free comprehensive health screenings worth approximately 800,000 KRW, including ultrasound and MRI, as a protective measure for the high-risk group of middle-aged and elderly people prone to solitary deaths.

Additionally, through post-screening monitoring, public services such as emergency welfare medical expense applications and case management will be provided to support treatment for any diseases discovered, offering an integrated public-private cooperative service.

Heo Seong-geun, director of Gijang Hospital, said, “I hope this small help will assist our neighbors in the area who are struggling to lead healthy lives,” and added, “We will continue to promote local welfare projects that practice neighborly love.”

In response, Hwang Chang-hoon, mayor of Gijang-eup, said, “I am pleased that this project has laid a significant foundation for strengthening the welfare network with partner institutions,” and added, “We will continue to actively strive for mutual cooperation and revitalization.”
