Police Complete Investigation of YouTuber from Previous Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Former Captain Lee Geun, who has been on trial for unauthorized departure to war-torn Ukraine, is being investigated by the police as a suspect in an assault case.
On the 22nd, the Seoul Seocho Police Station announced that they completed the victim investigation of YouTuber Lee, who reported being assaulted by former Captain Lee, the previous day. Former Captain Lee appeared in court on the same day on charges of unauthorized departure to Ukraine, claiming to join as a volunteer soldier.
It was confirmed that on the 20th, after finishing the trial and leaving the courtroom, former Captain Lee was questioned on site and then allegedly assaulted Lee and damaged his mobile phone by hitting it with his hand. A police official stated, "We are currently verifying the exact circumstances of the incident."
