Launch Event Held on the 22nd at KINTEX, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do
President Rempel: "Trax Crossover Will Be Loved"
"We are confident that Korean customers will also love the Trax Crossover."
Roberto Rempel, President of Korea GM, made this statement on the 22nd at the launch event for Chevrolet's crossover utility vehicle (CUV) 'Trax Crossover' held at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The Trax Crossover is Chevrolet's entry model in General Motors (GM)'s global product portfolio. It reflects consumers' diverse lifestyles. With its stylish design, versatility, and excellent space utilization, it aims to target a wide range of consumers. President Rempel emphasized, "The CUV Trax Crossover combines the handling of a sedan with the space utilization advantages of a sport utility vehicle (SUV)."
The Trax Crossover measures 4540mm in length, 1825mm in width, and 1560mm in height. It features a wide and low body stance. It also secures a spacious interior that surpasses its class. Along with a wide 2700mm wheelbase, it achieves a more spacious and comfortable second-row legroom through one of the shortest rear overhangs among Chevrolet models.
The Trax Crossover incorporates the letter X, symbolizing the crossover, as a design detail throughout the body. Stewart Norris, Vice President of Design, stated, "The Trax Crossover reflects the X shape on the front, sides, and rear," emphasizing that "it inherits Chevrolet's heritage."
The Trax Crossover is divided into the RS trim, which emphasizes sporty design, and the ACTIV trim, which highlights an outdoor feel, catering to consumers' diverse lifestyles.
The RS trim, meaning Rally Sport, embodies Chevrolet brand's heritage rooted in racing, focusing on sleek design and dynamic performance. The exterior adds RS-exclusive options such as 19-inch Carbon Flash machined alloy wheels, Black Ice chrome grille bars, black roof, black Trax lettering, and RS badges. Gloss black exterior colors are applied to the grille, outside mirrors, skid plate inserts, and roof racks, emphasizing the unique charisma of the RS.
The ACTIV trim is specialized for outdoor activities, featuring a more refined and muscular design. The lower part of the front radiator grille is expanded, and ACTIV-exclusive titanium chrome exterior options are applied to the grille and skid plate, exuding a tougher charm. Additionally, the exterior includes 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, gloss black exterior, and roof racks.
As a crossover designed for the global market, the Trax Crossover incorporates GM's latest technologies for outstanding performance and efficiency. In particular, the Trax Crossover's body structure was designed using GM's latest design process called ‘Smart Engineering.’

Smart Engineering is a design method that uses computer simulations of various driving conditions to identify load-bearing areas for reinforcement and reduce weight in non-load-bearing parts. The powertrain is also equipped with GM's latest technology, the E-Turbo Prime engine, which has been applied to the Malibu and Trailblazer. The Trax Crossover features a new, more compact 1.2ℓ engine.
Through this, the Trax Crossover delivers a maximum output of 139 horsepower and a peak torque of 22.4 kg·m. Combined with the GENⅢ 6-speed automatic transmission, which has been verified over a long period through various models, it achieves a fuel efficiency of 12.7 km per liter (based on the 17-inch model). It has also obtained the third-class low-emission vehicle certification, allowing for additional benefits.
The Trax Crossover includes many specialized options for domestic customers. It features an Auto Hold function. Additionally, the interior space includes second-row air vents for rear passengers. A power liftgate is also applied. Other specialized exterior options include LED tail lamps, LED integrated turn signal outside mirrors, and a shark fin antenna. The ACTIV trim offers the 'Hit The Road' package, which includes roof cross bars and a luggage liner.
The price of the Trax Crossover (based on the reduced individual consumption tax) is ▲LS 20.52 million KRW ▲LT 23.66 million KRW ▲ACTIV 26.81 million KRW ▲RS 27.39 million KRW. President Rempel explained that the lower sales price compared to North America is due to "high production volume and cost efficiency."
