Customized Mentoring Contributing to Healthy Growth of Adolescents
The Yeongdeok-gun Youth Counseling and Welfare Center in Gyeongbuk held the 1388 Yeongdeok Mentor Support Group inauguration ceremony on the 21st at the first-floor education hall of the Yeongdeok-gun Women's Center.
The center has been operating a mentoring program since 2017, establishing an emotional support system for the psychological stability of at-risk (potential) youth to help them grow bright and healthy.
The '1388 Mentor Support Group' consists of counseling volunteers with more than two years of experience who have completed a set training course and will be active for about eight months from April to November for the youth in the area.
By linking with local child and youth organizations, an effective youth support network is formed to provide 1:1 customized service support, conduct regular monthly training and case meetings, thereby supporting systematic and professional counseling.
Center Director Eom Jae-hee (Head of Family Support Division) said, "Through the 1:1 mentoring program of the 1388 Yeongdeok Mentor Support Group, we will strive to provide integrated services such as psychological and emotional support tailored to individual needs, life management, learning support, and cultural support to prevent youth delinquency and contribute to discovering potential and healthy growth."
