Gwangju Labor Office "Expecting Normalization of Unemployment Recognition and Revitalization of Core Functions"
The Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office announced on the 22nd that the unemployment benefit policy will shift from focusing on the payment of job-seeking benefits to strengthening customized reemployment support.
It is expected that the normalization of unemployment recognition and the original employment support function will be further activated.
The main content is that to strengthen unemployment recognition, job-seeking benefits will be paid after unemployment recognition if reemployment activities appropriate to the characteristics of each unemployment benefit recipient are carried out according to their type.
Currently, the number and scope of reemployment activities during the probation period are applied equally to all recipients, but going forward, requirements will be strengthened for repeat and long-term recipients, while relaxed standards will be applied to recipients aged 60 and over and persons with disabilities.
In addition, to promote reemployment of recipients, for the 4th unemployment recognition recipients and long-term unemployed, if it is judged based on the ‘Reemployment Support Survey’ and ‘Job Application’ written by themselves that they have a high desire to seek a job or wish for job placement, various reemployment support services such as employment welfare linkage and employment counseling tailored to individual characteristics will be provided.
Furthermore, recipients who have the intention to work but find reemployment difficult can participate in the comprehensive employment support program called the ‘Job Seeker Leap Guarantee Package,’ which includes designing a mid- to long-term career development roadmap through one-on-one in-depth counseling, consulting tailored to individual characteristics, vocational training, programs to boost employment motivation, and job placement.
A representative of the Gwangju Employment Welfare+ Center said, “In line with the reform of unemployment benefits, we will strive to discover and provide many quality jobs in the future, and also make greater efforts to provide various customized reemployment support services for recipients, such as job placement, accompanied interviews, and the Job Seeker Leap Guarantee Package project.”
