Daegu City Supports Participation of 11 Companies in the World's Largest IDS2023
Daegu dental medical devices are hitting the ‘jackpot’ in Germany.
Daegu City announced on the 22nd that it supported local companies’ participation by organizing the ‘Daegu City Overseas Exhibition Joint Pavilion’ at the 2023 International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany (IDS2023), achieving a total contract performance of $16.1 million (21 billion KRW).
Daegu City targeted the event in Cologne from March 14 to 18 through the ‘Regional Medical Device Total Marketing Support Project (hosted by Daegu Technopark).’
By establishing a joint pavilion at IDS 2023 and supporting local companies, they achieved a total of 1,068 export consultations worth approximately $44.82 million, among which $16.1 million in export contracts were signed.
This is more than double the $7.15 million recorded at the 2021 exhibition, marking the highest local contract amount in the history of Daegu City’s joint pavilion.

Eleven companies participated in this exhibition with support from Daegu City: OneDay Biotech Co., Ltd., Surgident Co., Ltd., E-Pros, Gabowtz Co., Ltd., Shinildentec Co., Ltd., Denstar Co., Ltd., Corident, CSM Implant, Medipia Co., Ltd., Yes Biotech Co., Ltd., and Micro N X Co., Ltd.
IDS is an international event that began in Berlin in 1923, held biennially, and has been primarily hosted at the Cologne International Exhibition Center since 1992.
This ‘IDS 2023’ marked its 100th anniversary, covering an area of 180,000 sqm with 12 exhibition halls categorized by type, featuring 1,780 companies from 57 countries and attracting 160,000 visitors.
Domestically, 197 companies (22 from the Daegu region) participated, making it the second-largest contingent after the host country Germany, conducting marketing activities aimed at entering European, Middle Eastern, and global markets.
OneDay Biotech Co., Ltd., a participant company specializing in dental implant products, has been continuously evaluated for its technology by overseas buyers through repeated exhibition participation, discussing seminar hosting and a dealership contract worth $2.5 million with companies from Algeria, Jordan, and Lebanon.
They also signed implant dealership contracts with Asian countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, and concluded a $2 million implant supply contract with a Japanese company.
Additionally, Micro N X Co., Ltd., a Daegu City free start-up company, signed contracts worth approximately $850,000 for implant surgical motors and handpiece sets with European countries including Romania, Georgia, the UK, Bulgaria, and Portugal. CSM Implant signed contracts totaling $500,000 for implants and surgical kits with companies from Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
Lee Seung-dae, Director of the Innovation Growth Office at Daegu City, explained, “Through the achievements at the Cologne exhibition following last month’s Dubai event, we were able to reaffirm the excellence and global market competitiveness of Daegu’s dental medical devices.”
He added, “We will aggressively promote and support projects to develop Daegu into a world-class city for the global digital dental industry.”
