Vietnam and China Air Routes Rapidly Expand... Air Busan Increases Flights

Air Busan announced that it will increase flights on its Vietnam and China routes starting from the 26th.

First, the airline will expand flights to the popular Vietnamese travel destinations of Da Nang and Nha Trang. The Incheon-Da Nang route, which had been suspended since last September, will resume daily flights from the 26th, and the Busan-Nha Trang route will increase from four times a week to daily flights.

Vietnam eased quarantine guidelines relatively early in March last year, leading to a continuous increase in traveler demand. Last month, the number of domestic passengers departing for Vietnam was the second highest after Japan.

According to Air Busan, the average load factor for its three Vietnam routes last month recorded in the early 90% range.

Air Busan also plans to increase flights on its China routes. With the recent allowance of Chinese tourist visa entries and the easing of quarantine measures, travel and tourism between the two countries have fully resumed.

Accordingly, Air Busan resumed flights on the Busan-Qingdao and Busan-Yanji routes from the 1st, and from the 26th, it will increase the Busan-Qingdao route from once a week to twice a week to secure business customers such as international students and tourists.

From mid-April onwards, the Busan-Yanji route, which has had high demand, will operate three times a week, and preparations are underway to resume flights on the Busan-Zhangjiajie and Busan-Xi'an routes, which were suspended after COVID-19.

An Air Busan official said, “We are focusing on resuming and expanding flights on routes that were suspended or reduced. Through rapid normalization, we aim to firmly maintain and strengthen our position as the number one airline at Gimhae Airport, increase our market share at Incheon Airport, expand passenger convenience, and enhance corporate value.”
