Emart Everyday Sells Misshapen Walnuts... "Same Taste and Nutrition"

Bulk Purchase of 100-Ton Quantity

Emart Everyday announced on the 22nd that starting from the 23rd, it will offer California-grown "Motnani Hodoo" (imperfect walnuts) at an affordable price.

The only difference between the products being sold this time and premium-grade walnuts is that the color is slightly darker, while the taste, nutrition, and size are the same.

Previously, due to the sensitivity of the domestic market to quality, only walnuts that satisfied appearance standards were imported and distributed in Korea. However, Emart Everyday judged that in this era of high prices, as long as the taste and quality are the same, these products are sufficiently competitive. Through cooperation with Dongwoo Nongsan, a specialized nut import and distribution company, they pursued direct import from the production area and purchased 100 tons in bulk.

An Emart Everyday representative said, "With daily increases in grocery prices, we considered ways to supply reasonable and affordable products and decided to import and sell Motnani Hodoo for the first time." They added, "Since about 20-25% of agricultural products worldwide are discarded due to appearance, selling non-standard agricultural products also brings significant environmental benefits."
