Plan to Expand to Female Firefighters in the Future
"Committed to Overcoming the Low Birthrate Issue"
Hana Financial Group has partnered with Cha Hospital to support infertility treatment for employees and firefighters, aiming to address the low birthrate issue.
On the 22nd, Hana Financial Group announced that it signed a strategic business agreement with Cha Hospital the previous day at the Cha Bio Complex in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, regarding this initiative.
Accordingly, both parties will promote ▲expanding infertility treatment support for women of childbearing age within the group and its affiliates ▲support for specialized examinations and egg freezing procedures ▲establishing an integrated support system for infertility assistance cooperation, thereby expanding various collaborations to overcome the low birthrate.
Furthermore, the support target will be expanded to include approximately 6,000 female firefighters nationwide in the future. Specialized infertility examinations by Cha Hospital will be provided free of charge to women firefighters of childbearing age, and costs for specialized procedures such as egg freezing will be supported.
In addition, Hana Financial Group plans to install infant-only nursing rooms by utilizing its own building spaces in four locations nationwide (two in the metropolitan area and two in provincial areas) and intends to expand this nationwide in the future.
Cha Kwang-ryeol, Director of the Global Comprehensive Research Institute at Cha Hospital, stated, “The cooperation with Hana Financial Group, which has been actively leading efforts to overcome the low birthrate through various methods, will have a positive influence on other companies as well. We plan to establish a specialized egg freezing center in Gangnam to make it easier for unmarried women to preserve and check their fertility before it is too late.”
Ham Young-joo, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, emphasized, “Since 2018, we have been promoting various infrastructure support projects, such as the '100th Daycare Center Construction Project,' to create an environment where work and family can coexist, addressing social issues like overcoming the low birthrate and caregiving support. This cooperation between the two parties will serve as a meaningful catalyst in overcoming the low birthrate problem.”
