The proportion of family travelers among all overseas package tour customers was 35%, the same as in 2019. Accordingly, it is analyzed that the demand for family overseas travel has almost recovered to pre-COVID-19 levels.
The most popular overseas travel destination with children was Guam, a U.S. territory, accounting for 10%. This was followed by Da Nang, Vietnam (9%), Osaka, Japan (7%), Nha Trang, Vietnam (6%), and Saipan, a U.S. territory (5%).
Interpark is running promotions targeting the Guam area that offer benefits such as special prices when traveling with children, additional options for kids, and room upgrades. They also recommended Japanese travel packages for family trips, which combine various experiences such as Universal Studios Osaka, hot springs, and gourmet food that adults and children can enjoy together. There are also Vietnam travel packages available, characterized by affordable prices, excellent resorts, and beautiful scenery.
Yeom Soon-chan, head of Interpark’s Tour Package Business Group, said, "Many travelers went overseas with their children during the first winter vacation period after the skies reopened following more than three years."
