The Integrated Defense Council of Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, held the 1st quarter Haman-gun Integrated Defense Council meeting on the 21st at the county office's medium conference room.
The Haman-gun Integrated Defense Council, composed of civilians, government, military, and police, holds regular quarterly meetings to strengthen the local security system. About 20 council members and related personnel attended.
At the meeting, they shared major issues including the National Intelligence Service Gyeongnam branch's presentation on North Korea's threats to South Korea, the military's report on key initiatives and plans for the 1st quarter of 2023, and emphasized points from the 56th Central Integrated Defense Meeting.
They also discussed establishing a close future cooperation system among government, military, police, and fire departments in preparation for various drills in the first half of 2023.
Chairman of the council, County Governor Jo Geun-je, stated, "As security crises escalate due to North Korea's continuous missile provocations, nuclear tests, terrorism, and cyber threats, it is necessary to build a security system to prepare for these. We must thoroughly reexamine the regional integrated defense posture centered on the Integrated Defense Council and strive for the safety of the residents."
