First Visit to Affiliate Company... "Must Embrace a Culture of Compliance Management"
The Samsung Compliance Committee announced on the 21st that it held a compliance management meeting at the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus. This is the first time the Compliance Committee has visited a business site of an affiliate.
The meeting was attended by all committee members including Chairman Lee Chan-hee, Samsung Electronics executives such as President Choi Si-young of the Foundry Business Division, and executives responsible for safety, environment, and compliance management.
The attendees discussed the current status of compliance management related to semiconductor business safety and environment, internal transactions, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
Chairman Lee Chan-hee said, "Corporate compliance management is meaningful when all employees, including top management, embrace compliance as a culture and strive to apply it in the workplace," adding, "The Compliance Committee will continue to work to establish a compliance culture on the ground."
The Compliance Committee also reported that Samsung Electronics executives expressed their intention to take the lead in establishing Samsung's compliance culture.
After the meeting, the committee members toured the semiconductor production plant.
The event was organized to establish a field-centered compliance culture, and the Compliance Committee plans to visit sites frequently in the future to promote the establishment of a compliance culture.
