'Kia EV Day' Unveils SUV 'Concept EV5'
EV6 and EV5 to Launch This Year
Kia is making a full-scale entry into the Chinese electric vehicle market.
On the 21st, Kia announced that it declared its full-scale entry into the Chinese electrification market by unveiling the compact electrified SUV 'Concept EV5' for the first time at the 'Kia EV Day' held at the Shanghai E-Sports Culture Center in China on the 20th.
Kia introduced its achievements, including the largest-ever global sales in 2022. This year, by officially launching dedicated electric vehicles in the Chinese market, which is growing into the world's largest electric vehicle market, Kia showed a strong determination to make a powerful comeback as a leader in China.

President Song Ho-sung said, "This year, we plan to launch the EV6 and EV5 in China, and next year, the Kia flagship sports utility vehicle (SUV) EV, the EV9." He added, "Kia's success in the rapidly and innovatively changing Chinese automobile market is a core element of Kia's global strategy."
President Song also added, "Based on innovative electric vehicle models that combine cutting-edge technology and various emotional elements, as well as a new brand strategy, Kia will captivate the eyes and hearts of Chinese customers with high expectations and grow into an EV Tier 1 brand."
The event was graced by key executives including President Song Ho-sung, Vice President Kim Kyung-hyun, General Manager of Kia China Corporation, and Vice President Karim Habib, Head of Kia Global Design Center.
Meanwhile, at the event, Kia also unveiled the compact electrified SUV ‘Concept EV5’ for the first time, receiving a warm response on site.
The Concept EV5 is a model that presents a vision of innovative mobility life through bold futuristic styling and an interior space that breaks boundaries.
This year, Kia plans to launch dedicated electric vehicles in the Chinese market to offer Chinese customers a different level of mobility experience.
